Friday at Five – May 25, 2012

10,080 minutes have passed since last week, which means nothing other than this: it’s time for another Friday at Five. Let’s get going.

What to Watch: Have you heard the Reds are in first place in the NL Central? How long do you think that will last? Find out this weekend. After sweeping the Braves for the first time since 1980, the Reds look to continue their home winning streak this weekend, beginning tonight at 7:10.

Of course the NBA playoffs continue this weekend with the Celtics and Sixers competing in the first game 7 of the conference semifinals on Saturday at 8:00 ET. The winner will go on to play el Heat, who knocked out Indy last night.

Also, you should know that Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade airs Sunday night at 8:00 . . . on Syfy.

What to Do: It’s memorial day weekend, which means a couple things. First, there’s a very good chance you have a three-day weekend. If so, enjoy it. Take a little break from the daily grind. Maybe get out of town, even if for a day trip. Or visit the lake.

Secondly, there’s a very good chance your local pools are opening this weekend. If you have little kids, this is a great way to spend a beautiful weekend. The pools most certainly will be crowded, but they often offer special prices opening day on both regular admission and on purchasing a seasonal pass. Check with your local Parks and Rec for more info.

What to Drink: Your most local craft brew. Check out our Saturday Morning News from last week and you’ll see a couple articles on the rise of craft breweries. Check them out. Then check out your local brew. Here, I’ll be choosing between a West Sixth IPA and an Kentucky Ale Bourbon Barrel Ale. Enjoy.
