Sunday Night Speech: Ed Stafford Walking The Amazon

I was flipping through the channels late one night when something caught my eye.  The program was called “Walking the Amazon” and it was one of the most amazing feats I have ever seen.  In short, Ed Stafford walked from one end of the Amazon River to the other.  It took 860 days.  While I watched he was infested with bot flies (if you ever want to see some crazy videos search “bot fly” on Youtube) in his scalp, drained fluids from his knees and elbows, cut his hand down to the tendon, and suffered from what he called a “rotten scrotum.”  Subsequently, I added having a “rotten scrotum” to my list of things to never experiences (also on the list, get shot and get bit by a King Cobra among others).  Have a look at the Ted talk from Ed below and then check out his personal website I promise you will not regret it.
